CASE STUDY PRESENTATION: 20%
1. Each group will present two cases in the tutorial sessions (using power point slides). The cases are drawn from David, Fred R. (2013), Strategic Management: Concepts and Cases, 14h Edition, London: Pearsoned Education.
2. The following questions will have to be answered by the presenting group. These questions are applied for all cases presented throughout the Tutorials:
a. What are the firm's most important external opportunities and threats?
b. What are the firm's major strengths and weaknesses?
c. How would you describe the firm's financial condition?
d. What are the firm's existing strategies and objectives?
e. Who are the firm's competitors and what are their strategies?
f. What objectives and strategies do you recommend for this firm? Explain your reasoning. How does what you recommend compare to what the firm plans?
g. How could the firm best implement what you recommend? What implementation problems do you envision? How could the firm avoid or solve those problems?
3. Evaluation criteria: Please see Individual Student Scoring Rubric.
4. The presenting group may use PowerPoint, transparencies, handouts, and/or any other presentation materials to facilitate the presentation and understanding of the topic.
5. The presenting group must turn in a hard copy of the presentation materials and Individual Student Scoring Rubric Forms (each student one form) to the lecturer on the day of the presentation.
6. The total marks are 20% - a maximum of 10% for each case presented.
7. Each group is to present 2 different cases during the Tutorial Sessions
8. Each group will consist of 5 or 6 students, depending on the total number of students enrolled in the course.
9. The case study presentation by group begins on Sept 24th, 2012. Details of the cases are shown below.
