'After the Darkness 'by Sidney Sheldon
The first book I chose to review is a suspense story, entitled as 'After the Darkness' by the famous author Sidney Sheldon. This book is set in the suburban of New York in the late twenty first century.
This novel is about Grace Brookstein, a beautiful woman, whose life changes while trying to prove innocence of her and her deceased millionaire husband who died after a supposedly sailing accident.
The characters in this story are very genuine and persuasive, such as, the main character of this story, Grace. While reading this story she became very much alive to me as a woman with strong and a never diminishing sense of determination, and the detective Mitchell Connors who is also a very strong character. I find Mitchell a stubborn and a care-free character who spontaneously finds himself desperately in love with the evidently most wanted criminal of the country, Grace Brookstein.
Beyond a doubt, the most tempting character in this story is Grace. What I like most about Grace, like I mentioned before is her strong willpower, devotion to her late husband. I especially like Grace's transformation from a soft, shy wife without a worry in the world, into a vigorously determined daredevil. A widow hunting for the truth. Come whatever may, she always managed to live to tell the tale. She never lost herself and is barely distracted. She easily inspired me from the very beginning of the story. Grace is someone I would like to be.
The turning point of this story is etched in my mind. The incident where Grace's husband dies, truly did affect me emotionally. The event made the characters come to life in my mind. I found myself mourning with Grace. I found my pump wanting Grace's husband to come through the door as much as she did. I found myself wanting to come across the words 'Grace woke up and found her husband lying next to her. It was just a horrible nightmare', somewhere in the middle. I literally felt connected to her because of this certain incident.
I propose this book to anyone with the sense for thrilling adventure. This book contains twists and turns you would never have predicted. Suspense, drama and love all blend in together; this story is a must for everyone craving for excitement in the form of a book.
Grace Brookstein will teach you never to give up.
Missing Pieces
'Missing Pieces' by Joy Fielding
The second story I chose to review is a story by Joy Fielding. Named as 'Missing Pieces', this story is based in the suburban of Florida in the late 90's. This is also a story full of mind-blowing suspense and heart-shattering twists.
This particular novel is about a family therapist named Kate Sinclair's survival, who finds herself in impossible dilemmas which comes crashing down on her all at a same time. Trying to knock some sense into her troubled sister before she marries Collin Friendly, a man who was on trial for killing apparently 13 women, Kate finds herself, drowning in her personal nightmares.
I would have to say that the characters in this story are also, without doubt, dreadfully strong and very believable. I especially I would like to highlight that the villain in the story Collin Friendly is indeed, extremely convincing.
Beside the fact that I would hate existence of anyone in real life like Collin Friendly, I like his character in this story. He always keeps his cool, despite the fact that the whole nation hate him and that he is being accused of murder. He is solid and he never let anyone break him down. I also have to admit that he is an evil genius and careful to cover his tracks. Even the judges found it hard prove that he is guilty. Yet this did not break his solid aim to kill. While reading this book, every
