Stop Global Warming
Stopping Global Warming may seem like an impossible dream, and it just might be. For years our climate has been changing for the warmer. Our winters don't seem to get as cold and our summers keep reaching record breaking heat. The biggest contributor to global warming is from us burning fossil fuels like coal and oil. I would consider this a major moral issue because we are sacrificing the health and well-being of future generations and the planet. The reasoning behind this, it is cheaper and easier to harness and burn fossil fuels then it is to use more eco-friendly sources of energy like wind, solar, and geo-thermal. Burning fossil fuel pollutes the air that we breathe. Each year the number of asthma patients increase. Our polluted air, on average, takes forty lives a year (Greenpeace, 2012). We could reduce these numbers by driving electric vehicles and relying on our cars less for transportation. It may be impossible to completely stop global warming but by switching to eco-friendly fuel sources, we could drastically slow it down and leave a healthier environment for future generations.
