Starbucks Financial Analysis
Starbucks started business back in 1971, which the first store was open in Seattle, Washington. Howard Schultz was hired as "Director of Retail Operations" added drinks (specialty drinks) besides beans and machine. After two years of his employment and conquered in Seattle, they perused opening chains of locations throughout the United States and then internationally. Starbucks mission statement is "Our mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit-one person, once cup and one neighborhood at a time."
The first outside location started in North American was Tokyo which has a sizeable about in Japan today. Today the company has expanded over 50 countries across the six continents includes, Africa, Asia, Oceania, Europe, North American and South America. Their main office is still in Seattle Washington. In the 1990's, Starbucks offered stock options to employees and went public. Today, Starbucks now sells coffees, teas, food, and coffee accessories and selling brand coffee sold in grocery stores.
In accessing Starbucks Corporation statements of earnings shows the year of 2009 the net profit of $9.8 billion dollars, in 2011 and increase of $11.8 billion dollars within 2 years. In 2010 shows a profit of 10.8 billion, profits increase within the past 3 years. In 3 years, operating income has increased more than 9.1 percent; in 2011, it has gone up to 14.8 percent. Within the 3 years' operating income has gone from $562 million to 1.728.5 million in 2011. The financial condition of at the end of 2011 total assets of $7.36 billion and total debt was $2.97 billion that good financial standings (Starbucks Investor Relations, 2012).
