Every day in school kids with special needs have a hard time in school. There is now a way to get students to learn better and do things that they may have not been able to do. The answer is the apple iPad. Why the iPad? Because it has a touch screen and many apps to help kinds with special needs. The iPad has many apps that can help with many problems. Some apps are free and some cost close to $300 but they work. The iPad is also helpful because it is easy to take from place to place. But the iPad costs $500 and some schools cannot afford it. There are other tools for assistive technology.
There are many types of programs for computers. Most computers have programs or apps pre-installed. In windows, the on screen keyboard helps kids with fine motor skills. Computers are good but they may not be easy to take around. That's why there is the iPad it has many features in the iPad. There are many apps a lot do with special needs. In January 2012 apple added textbooks to iBooks.
There are over 40,000 educational applications in the app store and growing. There are so many applications that can keep schedules, tell storoes, and teach lessons. You can get apps on many different levels and it is a great thing for schools. There is an application for the apple iPad that lets someone that cannot speak scroll through pictures and phrases and lets the computer speak for them. Special education applications have been in very high demand. You can use these applications in a way to meet each student's needs.
Apple may have accidentally developed an item that will change the future of teaching special education. The iPad is something that students want to use because it has a touch screen and is visually appealing. Students that cannot use a mouse can just use their fingers to move things. Apple has an incredible amount of people with autistic problems wanting to use the iPad. The touch screen is easier for someone with fine motor skills to use then a mouse. The bigger screen helps someone with vision problems. iPads help many kids feel independent. The iPad will change the future of special education teaching.
For meetings, there is technology that can get people together without being in the same location. You can have a meeting using Skype to share documents with people at any distance. You have to find out if a parent can use technology because some do not know how. If you need to help someone, you can arrange to provide them with technical support. Technology helps people stay in contact through email and internet access. Things have changed a lot over the years and will continue to do so.
