Communicating
Generally, all members of the younger generation speak at least some English. This is in sharp contrast to the older generation. Generally, Spaniards like to interact with people from abroad and they often believe in the superiority of products and services coming from abroad.
Evaluating
Spanish are very frank when it comes to deliver negative feedback, so in this scale it will be positioned as direct negative feedback.
Persuading
Spanish managers persuade others by applying what they consider is right to a real-world case. They tend to show their point by application rather than explaining the whole concept behind their point.
Leading
Unlike some decades before, Spaniards now take a flatter approach when taking important decisions within an organisation. There is still a hierarchical shape, but managers are becoming open to listen to their employees, especially when it comes to specific tasks or departments.
Deciding
This can be related to the previous section “leading”, whereas a decade ago, decision was made top-down, nowadays mid-range workers can influence in the final decision.
Trusting
Spanish culture is known for its warm social approach, therefore, building strong and trustworthy relationships is key. However, professionally, people´s performance will impact highly their future career.
Disagreeing
This can become challenging, usually Spanish people are very proud of themselves which make disagreements a bit tense between two parties. However, in organizations, it uses to be openly talked over and there is always a way of understanding. It just what way is chosen to get to the agreement.
Scheduling
Spaniards tend to delay in their social meetings for up to an hour or so. Sometimes they can also cancel an event within an hour prior to its kick off. When it comes to business, normally it is of high importance to start on time, not doing so, can lead to several consequences.
