In "Some Moral Minima," Lenn Goodman argues that there are certain things that are simply wrong. Do you think Goodman is right? Using specific examples, explore the challenges Goodman presents to relativism. Determine whether you think there are such universal moral requirements, and defend your answer in a well-argued three-page paper.

Things that Goodman was right about.

A.I agree with him that we are not all selfless and all about helping each other. We can be selfish/ evil and vindictive when it comes to certain situations or just in general.

b. In some peoples cases religion is a justification for a push to be a better person or if a person has acted out in a horrible way that the convenience of becoming saved within the church will also save them with their families etc. It's not the belief in our god that some people have for religion; it could be the selfish act of people of why they do something so unethical. I believe there is relativism in everything we do and we can be selfish without even knowing it. For example if you don't have the money to mow your lawn because you can't afford a lawnmower and you have your car parked on the lawn or sidewalk then you are ultimately bringing down house value in the neighborhood and that is being intrinsically selfish without knowing.

I think relativism is excellent way to get to know the people around you, issues that are happening and who and what in your community are doing to help. There are so many issues in the world today that could embrace relativism; poverty in this world ;what we could do to fix our government and our states and this decline in jobs, money and economy.
