Shrek the Musical Review
Every person is beautiful even if they are ugly deep down they have a beautiful heart. Shrek the Musical by DreamWorks is a modern fairytale about an ogre who gets sent away at the age of seven and is told by fairytale characters to save a princess who is locked away in a castle. Shrek sets out on an adventure to save his land and the other fairytale creatures lands from Lord Farquaad. In Shrek beauty doesn’t matter. Fiona fell in love with an ogre with ugly skin but beautiful heart.
An example of why beauty doesn’t matter is the song “Beautiful ain’t always pretty,” this shows how beauty doesn’t matter because to be beautiful doesn’t mean you have to be pretty looking. Fiona sings “I waited all my life, Lived it by the book, Now i know that's not my story, You take me as i am, Love me as i look, Standing here in all my glory.” This means that beauty doesn’t matter because you look the way you look and you should just love it that way. Another reason beauty doesn’t matter is when everyone says “ what makes us special makes us strong.” This means beauty doesn’t matter because the way you look is special too you and that is what's strong not your appearance.
Another example of why beauty doesn’t matter is the song “Big Bright Beautiful world” this shows beauty doesn’t matter because it’s saying that the world is full of ugly people but all together it makes up a beautiful world. Shrek sings “I know i'm not the handsome prince, For whom you waited, I don't have a fancy castle, And i'm not sophisticated, A princess and an ogre, I admit, is complicated.” This means that he knew that he was ugly, but he never gave up on his dream and Fiona loved him for him even though he was hideous. Another reason beauty doesn’t matter is when shrek also says, “It's a big bright beautiful world With possibilities everywhere, If true love is blind, Maybe you won't mind the view.” This means that Fiona and Shrek really loved each other so true love made them blind and they didn’t care on the appearance.
The importance of this is that don’t judge a person on their look to determine their personality. Beauty doesn’t matter to find true love. My opinion on this musical is that it really teaches people lessons and there are many messages to discover. I rate this a 9 great animation and kids will love, I honestly hate musicals but this one really captured my attention. I honestly hate musicals but this one really captured my attention and it will capture the attention and minds of little kids they will love it too they have the paitrn
