Should teacher be allowed to carry guns? Carrying a handgun is legal in all 50 states as of 2013. Studies say criminals are less likely to attack someone they believed to be armed. The second amendment argues “The right to bare arms,” and putting trust in those with concealed weapons to use them for defense reasons only.

I feel teachers should be able to carried a concealed gun, however there would have to be requirements. If a teacher wants to carry a gun they should have to have a physiatrist evaluation, to back my reason up of why I feel teachers should be able to handle guns; ABC News reports that there have been 31 school shootings in the U.S since Columbine in 1999, when 13 people were killed. The rate of people killed by guns in the US is 19.5 times higher than similar high-income countries in the world. America has suffered enough mass murders. Anything can happen anywhere in this world and it’s better safe than sorry. If teachers also were allowed to carry guns I feel a class on how to use it should take place, using a gun as self defense does not mean killing the way guns are perceived now are killing items but however there's places that can be shot such as the leg or other places on the body to be sure they're okay but you’re okay your self.

There's pros and cons to everything so with that being said we do have to realize the cons such as what if a teacher doesn't lock up the gun by accident and get their hands on it? Kids could also be afraid of the gun. Yet the way I look at this which outweighs which? I mentioned how teachers could go through a class, give the students a lesson as well explaining why and explaining what the purpose of the gun is inform the parents, teach kids that if they see it to explain it to the teacher even without the law my parents taught me growing up as a kid to not touch the gun and the safety and purpose of the gun.

WIth kids getting in any trouble with even something as simple as pepper spray I feel as if it would actually be more comforting if a teacher had some sort of protection we never know what could happen these days or what's going on in the minds of others, who could snap or even intrude. That weapon a lot see as scary could realize it could be the thing to save hundreds of students lives by one teacher being able to take defense and action on herself and the students.
