September 11th Essay
On September 11th at 8:46 in the morning, the sky fell in New York City. Four
planes were hijacked by Islamic extremists. Two of the planes were flown into the Twin Towers, one in the pentagon in Washington D.C. and the last crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. Sitting there in class watching the documentary on 9/11 I couldn't help the few tears that cascaded upon my cheek. I couldn't imagine the feelings that people possessed witnessing it live. I would not be able to bear the burden if I was there. I would feel stiff and unable to comprehend what had just happened. Being younger at the time I can't remember much that went on. I knew something devastating had to have happened to make a teacher cry like that. I was so young that I didn't know anything at the time, but now that I am older and have matured more I look upon this event in a whole new perspective. I believe that many schools have had something like this done to protect its citizens. The airport has changed a great deal as well. Immediately following the day of the attack, we had members of the military there with guns. I mean I couldn't believe it guns? You are supposed to be welcoming, not look like your going to kill someone. However, I do believe that you have to do what you have to do to protect and secure your nation. Everyone and anyone use to be able to board the plane with their loved one, but not anymore. I feel as if we have to look at everyone as if they are the enemy. I think that some people want to blame a certain ethnic group for their own well being.
There are many lessons that we have learned on how to deal with
Terrorism. Everyone has their own way in dealing with things. The liberals see it as that we have to make peace so that the Islamic group does not look upon us as both a threat and there enemy. Conservatives on the other hand believe that we need
