This software allows students only to take notes and view their online textbooks unless the instructor indicates in the system to allow otherwise.

1. Attention Getter: Paper textbooks are boring and tend to tare with the smallest mishandling. Not only are traditional textbooks, well, that, traditional, they are outdated and heavy. We’d like to introduce to you a revolutionary new software produced by iLearn Technologies which will allow students to reduce the amount of books carried from 2 or more standard textbooks to a lightweight 1.5 lb device.

Relevancy Statement: Since students will need to purchase textbooks each academic year it is important as educators we ensure this process is the most affordable so that, as educators you can focus on the task as hand, educating. Additionally, by switching to this technology students will decrease their backpack load by more than half.

Credibility Statement: As developers of the iLearn Technologies software we are able to speak firsthand to the advantages of getting rid of the traditional textbook and finally coming into the 21st century.         The traditional textbooks take plenty of space to storage. It becomes a problem for storage when a person has a certain amount of books. If he doesn’t put them in sequence or in the right place, it will be hard for him to find the book he needs at that moment.

        The prices of the traditional textbooks are far more expansive. Since those textbooks have gone through printing, the paper and ink with other processing will increase the cost of textbooks.

        The transportation of the textbooks would be another problem. Due to the number of the students, a great many textbooks are in demand. Those textbooks are not able to be accessed immediately. Sometimes the books will be out of stock, because the bookstores cannot estimate the certain demand (Grossmont College). The transportation of the books will take extra cost of time and money.

        Other than the iPad, which has built-in light, the traditional textbooks have a limitation for reading. In some inconvenient instances, if there is no light, the reading will be suspended.
