2. Historical Views of Management
Human Relations theory: Focuses on human relations and sees people as valuable organizational resources in their own right. People's needs are important and their efforts, motivation and performance are affected by the work they do and their relationships with their bosses, coworkers, and work groups.(Williams, 32).
The approach Yuengling could take is to allow any one of his four daughters to assume management and whoever has the greatest knowledge and most experience to lead D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. It relates to the human relations theory because they will managing with instead of over each other. It would be beneficial because it keeps it within the family line and allows each of the daughters to contribute.
Another approach could be to divide workers into teams based on regions in the east coast. Then give each employee a role to play in that region. Allow them to cross train and rotate employees within the teams so that the company has better human relations. It would benefit Yuengling because it would in the end lead to more productive workers and a better quality product. This relates to human relations theory because, again, it focuses on the workers and gives them importance within the organization leading to better productivity.

It would benefit Yuengling and solve its problems for who will be next to manage the organzation.
