SCIE211 Phase I Lab Report
Lab Report on: Human Impacts on the Sustainability of Ground
If current human development does not change, will ground water sustainability be affected?
Purpose: The purpose of this experiment is to determine and investigate, if water is continued
to be used at the rate that it is being used, will it be able to exist and sustain its self
over a period of time?
Introduction: The ground water system is one of great complexity, yet it’s simplified into basic
reproduction, careful use and the impurities of the waters it embodies and recycle. I consider the system complex because of its natural flow and ability to reproduce its self. The complexity also exists, when you factor in the nature flow of the water table, freshwater aquifer that flows out into the ocean salt water and the amount of salt water that flows back into the system. When you incorporate human use and abuse, the development both natural and man involved, the natural is simplified by nature. The human affects and involvement include both contributors to the pollution factors and the purification of the pollutants of this precious resource that we cannot literary live without. I would consider it simple, in the fact that nature reproduces it and with time its will return to the hydrological cycle. I consider it foolish that man destroys and pollute this resource and then load it back up with chemicals to purify the pollutions that eventually flows back into the water system that can kill fish and wildlife that drink it.
Hypothesis: I predict that the experiment will have a profound outcome that will establish fact, that major changes and adjustments must be made by man in addition to monitoring the changes in nature, that have great effect on the water flow system.
In time the water flow system has a great effect on man and the environment. The water supply and its flow can have effect on the plants and animals on our plant, this can affect our available food supply and inertly have effect on the very existence of mankind and his/her environment.
Method: The methods used to obtain information and resources were various. I used the
MUSE system to conduct a virtual experiment. The experiment show me a guide
That pointed out the flow of water in the water table. The amount of salt water
That flowed in and out of the system changed with time. This was not good because it established that with time “more” salt water flowed back into the

system. This is not good because the more salt water that came back into the
system make us aware that there is less pure water available for consumption.
This means that more salt water can be absorbed by means of well water. The
process and new found information would help us to conclude that we must watch
and monitor the flow of water out and into the system. This will help us to record
the rate of change and be able to reserve and preserve the use and availability of
this precious and need resource. Water does not only sustain life for human beings
it also helps to sustain life for our plants and animals that we share this beautiful
