For this assignment I am to check and inspect the safety of my home for a possible in-home child care facility. What I received from my findings was not at all as safe as I thought it would be.

Starting with my living room or family room as some might say I saw at least three electrical outlets uncovered and visibly to everyone. It is also at a low level where even a crawling infant can touch. There are four tall lamps surrounding the room where two of them are unblocked and are actually very light and tip over with just a slight bump. For our entertainment purposes we have a huge flat screen TV that is on top of a low three self entertainment center. I didn't realize how tin this TV was until know and it could possibly be one of the most safety risk because of how close the TV is to the edge of the desk with no room to place it more father back because of the long and wide stand that stands it. Another thing I noticed was that the fire detector was broken not only broken but actually torn off.

Next is the dining/computer room. It is a small room and pretty much connected to the living room what might seem like a safe room to adults and young children it can very much be the most dangerous room in the house. With a desk, a table, a short dresser and a tall decorated stand that covers much of the room, its what lies under and on top of them is the scary part. Under the computer desk is an electrical outlet that is surrounded by wires and phone cables. The short dresser that is full scissors, matches, computer cleaning supplies, and burning oils for incenses. Which the worst part is that that is eye level for an infant. On top of dresser is an incense burner and two plants in-between a vase with water. So close that if the water was to tip over it would drop right next to the out let full of wires. The dining room table looks nice but underneath it are staples poking out that are actually very sharp. And the tall decorative stand is festive with glass and pictures. But the problem is that the stand is quite light and the four legs that hold it up are weak and fragile.

Then there is kitchen. The kitchen is blocked off usually with a little door because of my nephew. But even so there are still a lot of risks. There are 5 drawers that are filled with miscellanies things like screw drivers, tape, safety pins etc... Next is two drawers that is filled with knives and the other is filled with silver wear. In between these drawers is our sink that can get very hot if the switch is left on hot. Across from that is the stove and oven. It is very easy to turn on and if not turned on right only gas is released. And all of these things are to eye level of even a three year old.

Right between the living room and dining room is the hallway and next to that is the laundry room. They are both very open and clean there is actually no risk there. The outlets are all blocked, the doors to the closets are shut and the only way to
