WHAT IS ROYAL MALAYSIAN CUSTOMS
Royal Malaysian Customs (JKDM) is that the agency chargeable for administrating the nation's tax policy. In alternative words, JKDM administers seven main and cardinal subsidiary laws. Besides that, JKDM implements eighteen laws for alternative government agencies. Our core business is to gather tax and in line therewith, JKDM's vision is to be a respected, recognized and a world category Customs Administration. Therefore, our mission is to gather revenue expeditiously and facilitate the enlargement of trade and trade through continuous facilitation while enhancing legal compliance so as to safeguard the nation's economic, social and interest.

THE DEPARTMENT UNDER ROYAL MALAYSIAN CUSTOMS
There are so many department under royal Malaysian custom. The first department is enforcement division. The objective of the Enforcement Division is to combat all forms of smuggling and fraud in an efficient and effective manner to ensure that all laws and regulations administered by the Department are fully complied with. With this the revenue of the country and its security is protected without disrupting legitimate commercial transactions. The functions of Enforcement Division are carry out intelligence operations on smuggling activities to increase enforcement against smuggling and irregularities. Then, carry out operations to eradicate smuggling in an integrated and coordinated manner through land and ocean patrols, road blocks and examination of suspected premises and shops. They will carry out investigations on smuggling activities as a results of data received, public complaints or intelligence reports and to complete investigations within the stipulated time-frame. They will also carry out operations against targets or smuggling black areas to wipe out syndicate through raids, searches, operations and information. They will open investigation papers on cases obtained for punitive action either through court prosecution or supply of compound and that they do manage the storage and disposal of confiscated goods with efficiency.
The second department is compliance management division. The history of compliance management division is prior to August 16, 2008, Company Audit Branch (Accounts Examination Branch) and the Post Clearance Audit Branch were under the Technical Services Division. Both these branches at the headquarters are now placed under the Compliance Management Division and are each headed by a Deputy Director of Customs. The Director of Customs heads the Compliance Management Division. Then they will effective on July 1, 2009 of setting up of the Compliance Management divisions Company Audit branches and Post Clearance Audit branches across the country have been approved. The objective is to plan and conduct a systematic audit of the licensees or importers and to ensure that the tax, customs duties are collected accurately and to provide advice regarding customs matters. To ensure that companies or importers licensed under the customs laws, understand and comply with laws and regulations.
Then the department is customs division. The Customs Division in Headquarters of The Royal Malaysian Customs Department is headed by a Director of Customs (Grade VU7) who is assisted by 2 Deputy Directors of Customs (Grade W54). This Division consists of 2 branches and 11 units. The 2 branches and the respective units are trade facilitation and industry branch and import/export and border control branch. The objective of the division is to implement policies related to industries, import, export and border control established by the department and the government. To establish procedure related to industries, import, export and border control which is in line with the stipulated policies of the department and the government. Then, to study and review policy or procedure concerned for enhancement and simplification to ensure predictability in its implementation and to provide cooperation and facilitation to other government agencies.
