This course requires that the Learning Team will prepare a 12-14 page paper and a Microsoft PowerPoint® presentation of the project and post it on Week 5. This paper is based on the Service Request SR-rm-012 found in the Materials Section of this Course. The Learning Team (LT) assignment will assume that the paper and the presentation are to be given to an executive management committee. At a minimum, the paper should include the following:
1. Each type of business system and sub-system.
2. Description of each business system and sub-system.
3. Identification of inter-relationships of business systems and sub-system.
The Service Request clearly ask for the need present a summary of all existing Business Systems or Riordan Manufacturing. Therefore, this paper will provide the necessary information that will lead to improve the company business systems to be more competitive.

Riordan Manufacturing Existing Business Processes and Systems
There are six main areas supported by the information systems and information technology departments. The following areas will be evaluated in this paper:
1. Finance and Accounting
2. Legal
3. Human Resources
4. Sales and Marketing
5. Operations
6. Information Technology. (Apollo Group, 2006)
This paper will not cover the Intranet or Internet Web Site. Each department uses or maintains information systems in order to accomplish their business functions. In order to understand fully the information systems in use this section will examine the information systems maintained or used by each department in detail and, where appropriate, recommend changes or enhancements to those systems.

Sales and Marketing The business areas supported in this area are: Historical sales, marketing research, marketing plans, sales database, production records, profit and loss statements, and marketing budget. (Apollo Group, 2006) Many disparate systems available to manage data. Some data is maintained in hardcopy and in microfiche. No specific system to manage the information and some hybrid systems used. No systems to manage Marketing or department budget. (Apollo Group, 2006)
