Picture this: a world with no respect, everyone treats you how they want to and don't care about it. You face respect in a day to day basis, whether you are just conversing with a friend or at your home. I believe that Respect is a Very important and crucial to living, not as food or water essential, but very close. A child grows up with the knowledge of respect and needs to be educated on the appropriate times of joking around or talking in a normal tone with no "funny business". As a child I would have got in many circumstances, if I had not learned respect I would have there might have been reprimanded. It is not only when you are a child that it is needed to be respectful. Respect and maturing are very similar characteristics and values. First the beginning to using the value of respect is when you are young, Later on your skill enhances, and after you are an adult you are fully capable of being respectful.
The golden rule is to treat others the way you would be treated, so without respect there is a possibility that you might live a mundane life without socialization. When you are a child you first encounter respect. As you mature and grow older your value of respect expands to a deeper level. Therefore I strongly feel the need that every human being should have an equal amount or a decent amount of respect no matter the circumstances. My capability of the value of respect is at an adequate level for my age. My value of respect has grown since I was younger. Now I know that there is a time and a place for everything, thus respect helps out with this understanding.
When you are an adult your perspective is at a better suited level. Peers look up to you and treat you back with respect. This is a natural process as when a child from teen to an adult. A connection that I have with the value of respect is when my father was in the military when he lived in Ecuador, why I relate respect and to my dad being in the military is because you need a large amount respect. When you grow up your respect for others reaches great amounts.
Respect can be taking over board sometimes, but I know anyone would always want to have plentiful of respect then none.
In conclusion, It is not only when you are a child that it is needed to be respectful. Respect and maturing are very similar characteristics and values.
