Change is a process that is inevitable and necessary in the medical field for growth. A strong leader should employ specific behaviors and strategies to influence individual and groups to attain their role vital as the change agent to promote or facilitate a change in the facility. Additionally, managers or leaders should facilitate transition occur smoothly and successfully in their organization. As managers and leaders, good communication skill is very important. They should able to communication well with others so to promote and facilitate change (Sullivan and Decker 2009). The following tools may help the managers to facilitate transition of changes successfully;
1. Communicate openly and honestly with employees who oppose change
2. Maintain support and confidence in staff even if they are resistive to change
3. Emphasize the positive outcomes from initiating change.
4. Find solutions to problems that are obstacles to change.
5. Accept the constancy of change.
6. Identify the problem or opportunity.
1.Collect necessary data and information.
2.Select and analyze data.
3.Develop a plan for change, including time frame and resources.
*Identify supporters or opposes.
*Build a coalition of supporters.
*Help people prepare for change.
*Prepare to handle resistance.
*Provide a feedback mechanism to keep everyone informed of the progress of change.
*Evaluate effectiveness of the change and, if successful, stabilize the change.
