Rachel's "Dream" vacation
It was three a.m. in a small suburban city where there was street with a baby blue painted house where the only source of light was the full moon up above, and the only thing you could hear on the street was a young couple arguing.
“Please don't leave Rachael if not for me at least stay for the girls” Peter said to Rachel through his tears.
“They're only kids how do you think their life will be if they grow up without a mother?” Peter continued
”I just can't live like this anymore it's not a healthy relationship we argue over the stupidest things!" rebutled rachel
"We can fix this, they have counseling. I can make us an appointment."peter said optimistically
"I don't want to go to counseling I want to be able to work past our problems not have other people work them out for us.”
"We can go on a vacation or something that can help bring us closer together and it will be good for us to get out of the house."
"That sounds like it could work." said Rachel with a small smile on her face. Though it was just a small smile it gave Peter hope for their future together.
Rachel and Peter then went on to plan the perfect get away from the kids on their old hand me down wooden table that they received as a gift from Rachel's mother. As Peter slowly scrolled down going through the same website he has been on for the past 30 minutes, he suddenly stopped and looked Rachel right in her light brown eyes and just gave her that look and without thinking twice she agreed to go on what was her dream vacation; after all they both did love nature, and a nice quiet setting would be perfect. They booked their stay at the Bear Trail camping site then immediately crashed together on the couch.
"Mommy can we eat breakfast now"
Rachel heard directly in her ear as her 5 year old daughter , Maya, was watching an episode of Spongebob in the other room. Rachel then looked at the clock, it read 7:24am.
"Yes of course we can eat breakfast just give me a second."
"Yay! Come on Mary it's time to eat."
Rachel slowly got up with Peter following and poured her kids a bowl of their favorite cereal. She then called her sister Rebecca and ask if she could watch her children for five days and she quickly accepted she loved to watch her kids. Peter and Rachel then explained to their kids that they were going on a trip and that their aunt would be watching them. Then Rachel and Peter began to pack their stuff for a week camping and by the time Rebecca arrived at five to pick up Mary and Maya they were ready to go on there trip. They kissed their kids goodbye and got in there red 2009 Kia Sedona and where on their way. They then went on their road trip they knew that driving ten hour would be worth it. After some hours they began to grow hungry.
"Do you think we can stop and grab a bite to eat I’m starving?" Rachel expressed.
"Yeah there's a rest stop in like 5 miles there should be some food there." Replied Peter.
"Ok sounds good."
When they arrived at the rest stop they got some pizza sat in the car and checked the map they realized that they were about half way there.
"I wish we could get there faster I really want to get there faster."
"Maybe we can there's a small road on the map than can get us there like an hour faster."
"I'm not sure that's a good idea Peter it looks a bit sketchy."
"Im sure that it's fine plus we can get a better spot on the camp ground."
So they began to drive again, they slowly arrived to the short cut and Peter looks at Rachel one last time and takes the path. Almost instantly when they got on the path it began to snow and as the night went on it began to snow more and more. The road looked a bit empty when they got on and hadn't seen a single car after they got on the road but they continued to drive. They made it one third of the way down the short cut before they got stuck in in the snow.
"What should we do now?" Asked Rachel.
"We can just stay in the car for the
