Problem Statement

The reason of the unsuccessful policy of imprisonment of non-violent criminals for the purpose of rehabilitation the population of the prisons has rise steeply to the point of serve overloading. The criminal justice system financially and logistically severely strains due to such overloading, as well as society as a whole by creating more strengthened, violent criminals who are more likely to break the law again and end up back in prison.

For example, in the American Prison, from the start of the 1980's the number of prisoners has increased by nearly 5 times more prisoners than now. The number of actual prisoners is increasing along with the rate of imprisonment.

Disciplinary Analysis of Problem

Humanities: -

Prison Overcrowding is the results of social trends due to the communities with lower standard of living are the ones most prone to violence. Impoverished people have less to lose and more to gain from committing to crimes. There are many examples of non-violent crimes. Theft, drug dealing, burglary or motor vehicles robbery are few examples of non-violent crimes. To cope up with the poor quality of life few people use drugs as a possible means.

The educated and wealthy people leave these communities, for better opportunities and lack knowledgeable and financial investment to make the conditions better.
