PESONA JNE REVIEW
JNE is one of the leading freight-forwarding and courier service in Indonesia. After enjoying 26 years of successful ventures in the Indonesian market, one of the senior executive Johari Zein, decided to expand the business into a more specific offering of providing authentic local delicacies from all over Indonesia right into the customers’ doorstep.
Pesona® had been developed to cater to such needs; to satisfy Indonesians cravings for the nation’s most wanted local food items. Getting your favorite local delicacies from anywhere around Indonesia would just be one click away with Pesona®.
Pesona ® itself was built on the dream to facilitate local Indonesian food business owners (especially those from SME segment) to expand through the nationwide network already owned by JNE.
However, tight competition, poor planning and lack of managerial effort in establishing a strong foundation for this startup seems to have taken its toll. Day after day, the 1 trillion Rupiah dream 2020 seems to be even further away. Thus, to get ahead of the competitors and win the popularity across nation, Pesona® would need to do several adjustments.
By identifying the strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat of this company, it can be seen that Pesona® has not make significant effort to connect with its vendor and buyer They should give a soul to their own product. First, they should be more active to offer its service to the clients by helping them achieve what they really need. Second, they should invest on storage facility and employee training to fulfill both customer and vendors’ needs. Otherwise, they should cut the expenses altogether by closing down the service since it offers similar service as its main company.
MY DAYS AS VOLUNTEER AT THE UBUD WRITER’S FESTIVAL
Greetings from Bali:)
Thanks to my friends and Ms. Novenia who promoted this event, recently, I volunteered in Ubud Writers and Readers Festival 2013 (UWRF 2013)- Through Darkness to Light. So, months before the events I went to the site and applied to volunteer. It was held in Ubud, organized by Mudra Swari Saraswati Foundation. I thought what’d possibly go wrong? It’s a book fest, lots of bules and Indonesiansgonna be there. They will sell books, talk about books, meet people who wrote the books. Hence, I took a day off, flew to Bali.
To be honest, I don’t write, let alone read so much. Just not that interested, due to the nerdy image of writers. In fact they’re NOT. On that festival I got to watch many dedicated people from various professions around the world sharing their experiences. There were around hundreds of people joining the festival that I can’t name one by one. In the 4- day- the festival, we had around 6 sessions in 3 main venues in which the panelist discussed various range of topics. Apart from the literature discussion, they talked about humanities, feminism, art, health, and even, cooking. Not to mention the workshops, fringe events, book launch, and PARTIESbeing held in 50 venues across Ubud. Some familiar faces such as Dewi Lestari, Farah Quinn, Ernest Prakasa, Garin Nugroho, Trinity (Naked Traveler) and Ahmad Fuadi (Negeri 5 Menara) also appeared in the panel. Through writing they documented their works and experiences which help the community to be better.
