Abstract
According to the Art of Manliness article, Personal Responsibility 102, Personal Responsibility is keeping little problems from turning into bigger ones. This report will explain what personal responsibility means to me and how there is a direct relationship between everyday personal responsibility and achieving ones academic success. The article What to Expect in College published by the University of California Santa Cruz (USCS) has an interesting take on what Personal Responsibility is. In college you have freedoms, there is no one monitoring your progress. No one is checking to see if you attend class or even complete assignments. You are responsible for your own academic success. UCSC lists a 9 step program that will help you achieve your academic success.

As they say "practice makes perfect" and I will be using some of their techniques on my path to academic success.

Personal Responsibility has many meanings, but below is what I feel Personal Responsibility means to me.
Take Charge with Your Studies
You need to take charge with your studies. If you have a clear organized plan, you should have no problem understanding and executing what you are asked to do.
Self-motivation
If you are not motivated to study and complete assignments on your own, find something that will motivate you. I use my family as my motivation. I need to succeed for my family. I will give them a better life than I had growing up.
Increase Your Self-awareness
You need to realize that negative thoughts, emotions, and studying habits can stand in your way to success. Take the appropriate steps to make positive changes.
