Even though life may seem to be easier when you don't take responsibility for yourself, personal responsibility is the key to success because successful people take control of their lives and unsuccessful people blame others for their missed opportunities. If we take responsibility and control of our school lives we will be successful in college.
In order to have personal responsibility we must have a personal definition of the term. Personal responsibility means different things to different people. To me this term means that a person takes charge of their own life and holds themselves accountable for their success and failures in life. I believe that if a person possesses this trait then they will be more or less a good standing citizen and will have less regrets about their life than someone who does not have personal responsibility as one of their traits.
As stated in the previous paragraph and title. Personal responsibility is the key to success in college. This is the key because in the online environment students must take control and charge of their lives and school work in order to get good grades and graduate on time. Personal responsibility in school also means that a person has to do whatever it takes to understand the material.
My plan to practice personal responsibility is to take charge of my school work by attending class every single day. While in class I plan to make good and meaningful contributions to the online discussions. Due to my work schedule I also plan to take make the best use of my time to complete my school work. I also plan to stay ahead because there are times that my work schedule is extremely busy. This will ensure that I stay caught up and will not fall behind.
To sum it all up personal responsibility is the key to success because successful people take control of their lives and unsuccessful people blame others for their missed opportunities. If we take responsibility and control of our school lives we will be successful in college in and in life. In order for this to happen we have to have a personal definition and a plan to see it through.
