Personal Essay on Self

I’m not a perfect student. I’m a little bit shy and not good at sports. But I don’t think I’m common for I have my own hobbies which make me different from others.

I really love flowers, not only because flowers are romantic, soft, and have beautiful exterior, but also because their positive character. They can bloom even in the coldest winter.

When I was 11 years old, I made a wonderful PPT which introduced different kind of flowers—their names and properties. I worked on this PPT for nearly one month. It was neither an assignment nor a competition; I made it just because I love flowers. From then on, I fell in love with these magic plants and they help me to become a kind and brave person just like a plum blossom.

If someone mentions the hobby of flowers, you must think it is ikebana. But actually, my hobby is much cruder than you think. I love collecting the fresh flowers and cut them into small piece, then put the flowers in a bowl which have some water in it. After that, I begin to pound it into mash by using a hard stick; finally, filtering the mixture, I get a glass of juice which have beautiful color and sweet smell. This encourages me to go in for medicine in the future. So I spend more time on making this fantastic ‘medicine’. Because of this, my parents often call me ‘Doctor of poison’.

I also love collecting dry flowers. I think the dry flowers are peaceful and composed. My favorite thing is putting the flowers into small glass bottle and watching the different color’s flowers shine under the sun. Although collecting flowers is a hard work, my mom and grandmother help me a lot in this process. I have collected winter jasmine, cherry blossom, and plum blossom etc. I treat them as valuable medicinal materials. Because of this, these dry flowers make me steady and profound. I learn to admire these beautiful and magic elves.

I know these hobbies are uncommon, but I really appreciate them, because these different hobbies show the only me.
