Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats

Pan de Frutas has several strengths on which to build, but our major weakness is the lack of brand or product awareness of the target customers. The major opportunity is the high demand for accessible and affordable foods for people in CLSU. We consider the high competition among the bakeries and other indirect competitors and the pricing pressure, also because of the competitors, as threats for our business.

Strengths

* Innovative products.

Pan de Frutas offers fruit pies with real rich fruit fillings. The shape of the pie appears like the real fruit in it.

* High nutrition value.

Since Pan de Frutas products contain real fruits, they provide they nutrients from the real fruits found in it.

* Guaranteed freshness.

Pan de Frutas guarantees freshness for its products. It is made sure that the fruit pies produced are just enough to be disposed for the whole day.

Weaknesses

* Customer's lack of brand awareness.

Pan de Frutas, since new to the market, has no established name or image in the market. We will address this issue with promotions and advertisements.

* Higher prices than most competitors.

Because our products contain more expensive ingredients than other competitors' products, we have to sell it at higher but reasonable prices. We can solve this through good positioning of the products and by offering quality products.

Opportunities

* Demand for affordable nutritious products.

The target market has a strong demand for quality, affordable and nutritious foods. Therefore, Pan de Frutas will do its best to give its customers what they want and need.

Threats

* Increased competition.

There is an existing strong competition on the market we will enter. Competitors like the May-Anne's Bakeshop offers student budget-friendly bread products. First Baker has an established brand, being also known in San Jose City. Burger sellers are accessible for more people because they sell in different areas, where there are many people, in CLSU.

An efficient and effective marketing strategy must be carefully organized and implemented for our company to be well-known by consumers.
