Introduction
Organizational culture is a system of shared assumptions, values, and beliefs, which governs how people behave in organizations. These shared values have a strong influence on the people in the organization and dictate how they dress, act, and perform their jobs. Every organization develops and maintains a unique culture, which provides guidelines and boundaries for the behavior of the members of the organization. Seven primary characteristics seem to capture the essence of an organization culture:
- Innovation and risk taking.
- Attention to detail
- Outcome orientation
- People orientation
- Team orientation
- Aggressiveness
- Stability
Lhotse Multipurpose Private Limited is a multipurpose private company that was established in 2057/12/17 with the objective to attain profit by investing in New Bus-Park that is spread over 8.2 hectares in Gongabu, Kathmandu. It has been operating the facility under the public-private partnership deal with KMC for the time frame of 45yrs. from the date of establishment. Mr. Dipak Kunwar is the founder and the chair- person of the Company. Mr. Yadav Kunwar is the vice chair- person of the facility. There are about 85 employees working under this organization.
The New Bus-park has undergone some drastic positive changes under the management of Lhotse Multipurpose Private Limited. Moreover, the company proposed to give a complete facelift to the bus park with capacity enhancement, along with the construction of commercial complex, hotels, restaurants and parks, a year ago. The company also proposed to ensure smooth services to long-distance travellers, better facilities for drivers and staffs. Bus Park will be developed with parking space for 800 buses, up from the current 450, along with state-of-the-art facilities. According to the KMC, all public buses entering and exiting the Valley will be parked at the facility in Gongabu after upgradation, relieving places like Gaushala, Tilganga, Kalanki and Koteshwor of haphazard parking after the completion of the project. The New Bus Park will be turned into a well-managed and disabled-friendly facility upon completion. The Company has planned to complete the renovation in four years and it has already deployed the workers in the field.
