Nowadays, numerous systems, especially Internet, have been widely applied to share information in society, which has played a vital role in changing human lives. Hall (2011) stated that Internet is significant important for the development of society, including economic, cultural and political, while it also needs to be monitored due to potential risks. In this essay, the benefits of using Internet such as providing communicational cyberspace, promotion of social study and exaggeration of companies' profit will be discussed. Meanwhile, website security problems are needed to be taken into consideration.
Firstly, Internet, a useful communicational cyberspace, is considerably important for changing human beings social interaction (Wilson and Peterson, 2002). Before the appearance of Internet, writing letters or making a call is a common way to keep in touch with friends and families. However, with the dramatically increase of Internet users every year, Internet has gradually dominant communication ways (Hall, 2011). For young generations, they prefer to chat online which could share pictures or graphics at the same time, video chatting immediately, or sharing up-to-date private information in their blogs. Meanwhile, due to the geographic limitation, a certain number of people even broadcast live shows online for entertainment, such as the preliminary competition in 2014 World Cup, the 2012 Olympic Games in UK, which could bring happiness in lives. Another main reason related to the importance of Internet is that Internet is a virtual space for individual (Wilson and Peterson, 2002). In other words, an equal platform could be provided without social class limitations, age bias or gender discriminations. For example, some might enjoy playing online games with anonymous and virtual personal information, because they could play their favourite roles and obtain the feeling of success instead of high working pressure and disappointment of lives. Therefore, cyberspace is an integral part of individuals' social lives.
In addition, intermedia which is an efficient way for sharing information effectively and efficiently has been widely used to improve companies' income. Castells (1999) asserted that 100 million people used Internet and the number doubled every year, so that it has caught companies' attention to expanding their business. People normally could see different advertisement on TV, magazines, newspapers or websites, which is the preferred way for companies to sell products or improve their reputation. Besides, publishing recruitment information through intermedia is necessary for companies to attract high performance employees, which could bring experience and new energy for business (Niekerk and Maharaj, 2013). In the past, for employees, they might collect limited recruitment news from newspapers, and companies also interviewed several candidates in a position, which has less effectiveness
