Nations Valuation Services is a residential appraisal management company. The company has been in business since 1992. We have three locations including Kansas, California and Ohio. Our company provides services all across the United States. The position chosen for this analysis is Payment Processing. This position was chosen for analysis as it plays an intricate role within our organization. The Payment Processor is responsible for processing payments, order verifications and completing financials.
Step 1 - Develop preliminary Job Information
The Payment Processing position in the NVS OH office will be responsible for all applicable Customer appraisal payment operational business processes. We are seeking the right individual to join a high functioning team that directly contributes to the future success of NVS OH. The successful candidate will be a fast learner, highly organized, have a strong ability to multi-task, with strong attention to detail, be able to problem solve and review their work products for accuracy.
In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate, through a thorough testing and interview process, proficiency in: 10-key, MS Word and MS Excel; Processing transactions; Basic bookkeeping and mathematics principles; and demonstrate a strong customer service orientation. Typical responsibilities are inclusive of Electronic Payment Processing - AutoPay, ACH, Credit Cards, etc., reviewing payment reports and researching payment related issues or errors. Returned Payment Processing in collaboration with Credit Operations' collection efforts Generate reports as needed as well as perform other functions and responsibilities as needed.
Step 2 - Conduct Initial Tour of the Work Site
The worksite is in general office. There are over 60 employees and each employee has their own cubicle. The payment processing area consists of several payment processors that are all seated together. The payment processors have access to a payment system that allows them to process payments in a timely manner. Each processor has a monitor with two screens. The payment processing manager oversees the day to day production for this particular department and also sits in the same area as her subordinates.
Step 3 - Conduct Interviews
The job interview is conducted by the immediate supervisor of the payment processing department. The interviewee is required to bring a copy of their resume along with references. The interviewee must also fill out a job application before the interview process takes place. Once the application process is complete, the supervisor meets with the interviewee. The supervisor has an interview questionnaire form that she fills out during the interview. This form helps her keep track of the questions/answers used during the interview process. Once the interview is completed, the supervisor compiles all her notes into one document and uses it as an assessment for determining whether or not a potential candidate is qualified for the position.
