National Poverty Alleviators

        In the United States of America, there are many organizations that help and provide assistance to people in any way possible and as many ways as possible. Unfortunately, most of these organizations focus and support the middle and upper class people due to profitable reasons. But on the other hand, organizations like the Grameen Foundation, Coalition on Human Needs (CHN), and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are helping the people who have been neglected of assistance and suffer in poverty. Even though United States is a developed country, the problem of poverty exists at an immense level. And with the idea of the American Dream, America must make a vigorous federal, state and local commitment to improving public schools(School Business Affairs, 2009). With this effort in play, America has a better chance to reduce poverty.

        America, as a super power in the world, also struggles with the problem of poverty. According to Grameen America (2012), 46 million people live in poverty.With this fact in mind, lots of the families have to work day in and day out just to make enough to get by with the bare minimum amount of the basic necessities. The Grameen Foundation is a global foundation which works on eradicating poverty on a global aspect. One of their major focus is in the United States.         Grameen Americas main focus is to [offer micro-loans], savings, training and support to transform communities and fight poverty in the United States, based on the Grameen model developed in Bangladesh(Grameen America, 2012). Grameen Americas main focus is on women and to make them self-sufficient, this way they themselves can assist others who are suffering from poverty.

        Another national anti-poverty organization is Coalition on Human Needs (CHN). CHN (2014) is a team of national organizations working together to promote public policies which address the needs of low-income and other vulnerable populations.This coalition provides information on poverty and human needs issues for our members and the general public(CHN,2014). Their main focus is towards the federal agencies; this way they can promote the policies which will assist in eliminating the aspects of poverty in America.
        The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is also another national anti-poverty agency in the United States. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
s (2014) US division "works to improve U.S. high school and postsecondary education and support vulnerable children and families in Washington State.Their main focal point for US is to make sure that all students graduate with a diploma from high school and are prepped for college to earn degrees in the chosen field of study. Another focus of theirs to address issues of social inequity and poverty in Washington State(Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, 2014).
