Modern life is full of hardships, but we as people, African American people, fail to realize that the perseverance of hardships by those who paved the way for us is viler. We go into a slight economic depression and think the world is OVER, but our past ancestors gained courage by risking their lives to escape slavery and make a future for the continuous generations. One of those "pavers" was Frederick Douglass, born as Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey. By the end of this essay, I'd like to have a created a visual for all of the people, black or white, to show just what this one man did to make a better future for our generation.Modern life is full of hardships, but we as people, African American people, fail to realize that the perseverance of hardships by those who paved the way for us is viler.
