My Descriptive Text

This research is aimed at observing student's undertanding of describe something by instructional media teaching. Sometime students difficult to describe about something and take it to text, even the teacher try hard to explain what the dersciptive text is and how to use it. The way to make it easier to understand is teach them by using instructional media such as picture, video, or real example.

This research is a descriptive qualitatve design. It is to analize student's interesting when teacher use instructional media in descriptive text and when teacher does not use that way. The analysis start by make a comprehension when teacher give an explanation by two ways. The first way is the teacher explain about descriptive text and show how to describe a thing by picture. Then the teacher asks the students to describe a cat in the picture by how it looks. The second way, the teacher also do the same thing but without instructional media. The the teacher asks how a cat looks but without show the picture. In the last the teacher compare the result and make a point of the research.

The result, the students more interested with the first way which is the teacher explain the material and shows how to use it by the picture. The students understand the material easier than the second way.

Based on the result of the research, the writer suggest to the English teacher to have more skills to make a fun class but still serious, that way can make students understand the material easier than in formal teaching - learning process.
