Multi-tasking has been going on for a very long time. Sure people have learned to multi-task more frequently and in depth. It can be very dangerous depending on when you are multi-tasking. For example: Texting, driving and putting makeup on all at the same time. People do not think of the negative outcomes that can occur while multi-tasking. But there can also be some positives to multi-tasking too.
"Multi-tasking should carry a health warning," As the author states in the article "I now skillfully pee, clean my teeth and read the paper, all at the same time." Multi-tasking can be very stressful and straining on a relationship. The author also mentions "I guess we must accept that there are activities that should never be combined." When people tend to obsess about it, it can change their life in a negative way. Such as: Doing paper work, spending time with your kids and cleaning. How is there any time for their family? When you multi-task this small; you have more time for your family and friends rather than being so stressed out that you would snap at the first joke someone says.
Depending on how far you are willing to go to multi-task will determine the negative or positive affect it will have on your life. People do not tend to realize the harmful effects it can have, so they continue to keep doing it. Multi-tasking is a problem for several people more so than a practice. In this day and age some people just can't live without multi-tasking and that can be harmful. For some people it is like a drug, they get addicted and just can't stop so they continue to do it. People should take a second look when they begin to multi-task and ask there self if it is really worth it and if they really need to save the time at that moment.
