Question 1:
Briefly describe the major classes in Phylum Arthropoda, including the Class Insecta and the Class Arachnida.
In the Phylum Arthropod group, there are four subphylum classes. Three that are recognized and the fourth group are called Trilobite, which is known by the fossil. They consist of Trilobites. There bodies are divided sideways into three sections (lobes) as well as a head and body region.
The second class, Chelicerata a class that has the first pair of appendages, modified as pincer-like mouthparts called Chelicerae. These are the Fangs in spiders. The third class, Xiphosura is a sword, tail is called horseshoe crabs because of the horseshoe shape carapace covering the Cephalothorax. They are marine, this group; I call the crustacean's arthropods and consist of the crabs, lobsters, shrimp, and barnacles, which I call small shell arthropods that live in water.
The fourth class, Arachnida (spiders) include the tick, daddy- long-legs, and spiders. They have simple eyes on top of their Cephalothorax. The firs pair of appendages is modified a Chelicerae, small pincer- like mouthparts, which modified as fangs in spider. The second pair of appendages modified as Pedipalps (foot) in which spiders, look like small legs, but in scorpions are large Pincers. They have four pair of walking legs.
In the class Insecta Arthropods, they consists of cockroaches, Ants, flies, bees, beetles, and butterflies, which we all love so much because of their distinct color. The class Arachnida- consists of the scorpion, and mites just to name a few. There are others classes of Arachnids that consist of millipedes and centipedes.
In today's society we estimate, in terms of insects alone, in terms of individuals, thee are more ants than anything else. In this phylum there are more insect than all plants and animals together. This is part of the reason we never seem to get rid of the ant, he just move to another spot or area.
Question 2:
Describe what the class Insecta consists of and how it is further divided.
The Insecta class Atelocerata, have wings and they are not appendages, 3 pair, and 1 pair per thoracic segment some abdominal. This class includes the flies, bee's cockroaches, bees, and butterflies. This class can be divided into twenty-nine orders. For example: The Apterygota class, these are winglers insects and their body structures suggest they never had wings during their evolutionary history. The Pterygota, these are winged insects, some have lost their wings during the course of evolution. The Pterygota division Endopterygota are winged insects that have lost their wings during the course of evolution. Their wings develop internally inside the body of the immature insects, and there is a marked change during the life cycles, just to name a few. You must identify the unknown insect to determine what order is correct, to be place in a class. Question
