Comparison:"Mom Luby and the Social worker" and "Berry"

"Mom luby and the social worker "in this short story the title identifies the protagonist and the antagonist in this struggle between a shrewd applicant for state assistance and the system that tries to frustrate her. In "Berry" the children's name for Milberry, reminding us that they love him unlike some people around him who can't see beyond his colour because of their prejudice. The theme I will be focusing on is A woman's/Man's challenges.

In the story "Mom Luby and the Social worker" mom luby had faced many challenges, she had to manage her business she had, and she was a midwife, herb doctor and an ordained minister of the gospel she also had her grand kids to look after because she was like their mother and she also had the challenges being an applicant for state assistance.

In story "Berry" he also faced many challenges as a young man. He was a high coloured person with not much educational background because where he was from didn't have many schools for "Blacks". He worked at Dr Renfield's Home for Crippled Children for a kitchen boy's job and he was paid less because he was black and he was given additional chores to do.

The two stories are very similar being that the challenges both personas had to face. It also showed the love and care each persona had for children.
