Medieval Crusades were not noble because the Christian crusaders had committed many unjustifiable attacks against religious parties to help supply their Holy War with torture, religious motivation and pride.The crusaders would slaughter the Jews without mercy and it did not matter what age or gender the Jews were. This shows how the crusaders were careless about how or who they killed because they felt like killing people who are not Christians is justified in the eyes of God. In the document, The Frankish Victory by Raymond d' Aguiliers, describes how the crusaders took over a Muslim city which turned into a massacre for the Muslims. The crusaders would cut off their heads, shoot them with arrows, and set them on fire. This shows how the crusades were truly not noble.This shows that they will do anything to keep their religion at peace. In the document, Letter of Instruction to the Crusaders by Pope Urban II, the pope is asking the people to take affirmative action against Muslims in the East. The pope said that if people were to fight against the Muslims, they would be forgiven for all their sins and he says it's blasphemous and intolerable that Muslims have taken over the Holy city of Jerusalem. This shows that they have pride in fighting for their religion and the pope is willing to sacrifice in the name of war.
