The time I identified a situation in my life that was distressing to me is when I had to make the decision of either continuing to live with my cousin, or move out to have my sanity. Two years prior she needed somewhere to stay with her two children, and I said she could stay with me. The agreement was that she would come to stay with me, and save her money so she could eventually move out on her own. She never did that and got extremely too comfortable. I also over heard her talking behind my back to a friend of hers but I never said anything and let her continue to stay with me after my lease had ended. We found a place together because I knew she could not afford to live on her own and I felt bad for her children because they never had a stable home. After two weeks at the new home, more drama arose to the point I knew I would not be able to stay there any longer. Legally, I knew I could not go anywhere because of the lease, so I stayed. Later on, the lease was almost up and I noticed her company was there more than usual. She finally told me he was living there. I specifically told her his name was not on the lease and he had to go. She did not agree with that so I told her I would be moving. That was the final strike for me. However, she has tried so hard to make me look like bad person in this case. This situation was definitely a problem in my eyes. An issue is something small that can ultimately be worked out. I had an issue with her boyfriend excessively being there. I had an issue with talking behind my back. The problem was her thinking it was okay for him to stay there. In this case, the situation could not be worked out, so therefore it became a major problem that could not be resolved. I expressed the problem in a very calm manner, partly through a text message and in person. Also, I learned not to make other people's problems my own problems. I also agreed to put in a sixty days notice for her as well because I knew she could not afford to stay there. We have now gone our separate ways.
