Tameka Hobbs informed me about the white man's perception of lynching. Lynching changed as time passed and the practice spread into America (90). I believe that white men lynched blacks out of hatred and jealous reasons. African Americans were victims in society. The most dramatic evidence of the increase animosity towards blacks was the rise of lynching (93). I don't see how people can physically abuse another human being without a reason behind it. I believe that white people where just trying to have full control over blacks. Black men where lynched for a wide variety of reasons. Lynching became an effective way for southern whites to control blacks (93). I believe that the system for society is not fair till this day. To me, society is judge by stereotypes of individuals. Lynching continued for so long, because of common stereotypes (95). I think that white people didn't see anything wrong with burning another man. Especially, a black man, since black people wasn't equal to whites. They probably felt good after murdering an African American since they were rarely being punished. Lynching in the U.S. flourished because white gangs did not fear prosecution for murdering blacks (96). I believe it was their way of life. White Southerners used this fear to maintain social control, giving them a psychological sense of superiority over blacks (95). They where taking advantage of the black society and the black voices. What they were doing was morally wrong. I couldn't lynch another human being because I wouldn't want them to do it to me. Reading this passage lead me to believe that the white southerners had no heart or sympathy for any other group of races. Information given to me about situations like this article, makes me feel anger and stunned by white peoples' behavior. I can honestly say that I am blessed and glad that society has changed and grew over time. Because I wouldn't want to live such deadly behavior.
