Love is all around

How to put something into words when you can understand it only if you experience it? How to describe something with words, when they are not strong enough to convey what you mean? This something I am talking about is nothing else but love - the feeling, which is inborn for all living creatures. It is the affection to our family and friends, the attachment to our favorite places and objects, the devotion to our hobbies. It is the unexpected excitement of teenagers when the secret beloved stands before them; the realization that you cannot live without somebody; the suffered truth that a marriage is something more than just love. We feel these nuances of love at different stages of our lives - from childhood to old age. Although love cannot be classified in categories, the way we love our family, friends and sweethearts is different. Therefore, we change our thinking, our attitude and expression of love according to how it makes us feel.

There is a definition of love in the Bible and it says that 'love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things; believes all things; hopes all things; endures all things'. In his book 'The Notebook' Nickolas Sparks writes that 'the best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our heart and brings peace to our minds'. These beautiful words cannot generalize the notion of love, for we all have diverse concepts of it.

For me, love is a supreme power, which rules the whole universe. We cannot see it or touch it. But we can feel it and perceive it with our senses. What we know about it is that it is omnipotent and transforming, painful but joyful, giving but also demanding.

Love creates life, gives it its blessing and enables it to develop. There is nothing more valuable than family love, especially the love of the mother. We feel it during our whole life because it is like an inexhaustible source of energy and devotion. Mothers hover like swallows over us even when we are adults. They spend numerous sleepless nights, taking care of us. You can object that it is their duty, their role in our lives to do that. But think about all those women who abandon their children for one or another reason. Is this love? Love is shouldering the responsibility to raise a child, to educate it, to support and love it. It is the affection that brings us safety and comfort, that dispels the feeling of being homeless and that always stands behind us. Without family love, we are like a tree without roots.

Love can arouse genuine feelings, eternal values and the ability to dream. It is one of the fundamental components of friendship. Love to our friends is like the moon
