Well the saying goes, everything happens for a reason, does it? Is it the cause and effect of life, is it the path set out of for us? Choices that are made in your life whether you or someone else make them, put you where you are in life now and where you will be heading with your future. Everyday we wake up and we choice what to where, what we will eat, how our day is going to go. Everything is a choice that can lead us in a good direction or in a bad direction. There may be some bumps on that way but it is up to you how you will handle it. I know I would not be the person I am today if it was not for the choices made in my life.
It all started when I was younger with my parents. My mom and dad did not live together. I would alternate my time between both homes. Along the way, my parents did not always make the best choices. My mom decided to do drugs and give up on life and family. She sold everything we ever owned in our house, which lead to her loosing her children. My father made the choice to step up, take us children out of a bad environment, and try to give us the best life he could. When I was younger I really did not understand why my parents made the choices they did or had a say in the choice, I just had to go with it. As I started to grow up and understand, I could see how our choices affected our lives and see that sometimes we do not always make the best decisions and we can only learn from our bad decisions and try to change for the future and we can grow on the good decisions we did make. Growing up I did not always listen to the recommendations around me, even today I may not know if that decision I make that day is the right one, but hope for the best. The one thing that I do know is the choices that have been made for me and by me, I would not take back. Those choices have led me to have a wonderful husband, a beautiful family, a good home, nice car, a good job and many things to be grateful about. I hit a few bumps on that way and did not know if I had made the right choice, or what if I made a different choice, what would have happened? Where would I be now?
We cannot dwell on the past though. We can only continue moving forward with our choices and hope for the best. Unfortunately, some people are not as lucky as I am. They did not make the best judgments and or the people around them did not make good judgments and they have not been able to get back up on there feet or giving a chance to make improvements. For example, children who are homeless or in shelters, are where they are because of the actions of the adults who created them. The outcome is not always up to them, but the future is in there hands. You may not be able to control your child hood but you can control your adult hood and know that every action has a consequence some good and some bad.
