Units/Themes/Topics: Unit 3: Healthy Living/ World of Knowledge

Skills: 1.1 Listen to and repeat the final blends; /nk/, /lt/, /mp/, /ft/ and /nd/

2.1 Repeat the following sounds in words correctly; /nk/, /lt/, /mp/, /ft/ and /nd/

3.4 Read aloud words and phrases by matching simple phrases to pictures.

3.9 Read simple poems and simple stories.

Learning Outcomes: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:

1. Read aloud the poem (title of the poem) with correct pronunciation, intonation, stress and expressions.

2. Match at least 7 out of 10 picture cards (name the pictures) with the correct final blend sounds. (what are the words)

3. Identify and group at least 2 out of 3 picture cards according to its final blend sounds. (name the words)

Induction Set

(5 Minutes)

Teacher starts the class by asking the pupils what are their ambition.

Teacher calls out volunteer/ random pupils to answer.

Teacher talks about the occupation as a doctor.

- Treats sick people How are you today?

What is your ambition?

Put your hands up to answer.

Who wants to be a doctor?

Why do you want to be a doctor?

- They treat sick people.

- Doctor is a noble occupation

Picture of Pak Pandir (you are not using this picture in this stage)

Step 1

(20 Minutes)

Teacher introduces the lesson.

Teacher puts up the poem on the board.

Teacher asks the pupils to read the title of the poem.

Teacher asks the pupils to go through the poem and identify difficult words.

Teacher reads the poem and asks the pupils to repeat after.

Teacher divides the pupils into 2 group; doctor and pupils

Teacher instructs groups to read the stanza according to their role.

Teacher discusses the poem together with the pupils.

Teacher talks about the good deeds that doctors does.

- Kindness

- Love & Care Today we are going to read a poem about.

Can you read the title out loud?

I will give you a few minutes to go through the poem and identify the difficult words. (Should have follow up)

I will read the poem and you will have to repeat after me.

Now which row wants to be the doctor?

Doctors please read your part.

The poem is about the pupil/kids went to see the doctor.

What does the doctor usually do when you went to see him?
