Leonardo Da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 in the small town of Anchiano, near Florence. His birth name is Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci. He was the son of a wealthy Florentine notary and peasant woman. Leonardo was an Italian painter, architect, engineer, mathematician, and philosopher. His father was Ser Piero he was a public notary fir 25 years when Leonardo was born in 1452. That was the same year he married his first wife. He had been described as a "Renaissance Man". Leonardo is one the greatest painters of all time, and most talented person to ever live. Two of this works "The Mona Lisa", and "The Last Supper" is his greatest artwork. Was born as an illegitimate son. He always sketched and observed nature. Leonardo was gifted but had hard problems finishing the paintings he started. He is known for designing many inventions.
He Born in 1452 in Anchiano, near Florence.in the year of 1457 Leonardo moved to his grandfather's house from Anchiano to Vinci, from there on he was a member of his father's family. In 1460 his family settled in Florence,
and he was given the best education that Italy could offer. In 1466 Leonardo was the age of 15 when he got apprenticed to Andrea Del Verrocchio where he was introduced to many activities, when he would get an assignment his work was so much better than what Verrocchio would paint. In June 1472 he entered in the painter's guild of Florence and was listed in the red book of painters from Florence. Then in 1476 Leonardo was Verrocchio's assistant, 1478 he became independent master. His first goal was too paint an altarpiece for the chapel of the Palazzo Vecchio, Florentine hall. When it was 1482 he entered the service of the duke of Milan, he wrote a letter to Ludovico Sforza; saying that he would build portable bridges. He then served as a principal engineer in the dukes many military enterprises. From 1495 to 1497 Leonardo worked on this masterpiece "The Last Supper" he stayed in Milan to complete his paintings. 1500 he returned to Florence. 1502 Da Vinci entered the service of Cesare Borgia duke of Romagna and son of Pope Alexander VI; 1503 he became a member of the artists
who were to decide the location for David the famous marble statue by Michelangelo.
He finished a full size cartoon is 1505. 1509 he assisted Italian mathematician Luca Pacioli. Leonardo Da Vinci painted several portraits but the only way that survived was the Mona Lisa he had a special affection for the picture that he took it everywhere he travelled too. From 1514 to 1516 he lived in Rome under the patronage of Pope Leox. After he was done went to France to enter the service of King Francis I, he lived near his place at Amboise. Leonardo spent the last three years of his life there, then died at the age of 67; May 2, 1519. They say that he died in the arms of the Kind of France.
