The Final Frontier

I. Introduction

A. The breakthrough of civilian leadership into the space race.

B. A man who has been a pioneer in many technologies from electric cars to breaking the atmospheric barrier. His name is Elon Musk.

C. I want to show people who read this paper, that there are people in this world who want and expect more out of our society.

D. I want to show that space exploration is the future our society, not just a spot on the nightly news. The economic boon from operating in space isn't comparable to what we have here on earth.

II. BS Computer Information Systems

A. My proficiency in operating different computer systems for the army, as well as having always been interested in computers. The department of labor has said that Web Developers, which is what my concentration is, are expected to grow by 30 percent by 2018.

B. I expect to complete my degree by summer of 2015.

III. The choice of my leader is Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of SPACEX.

A. Elon Musk is the leader of my choice. He is leading the way into space exploration.

B. Governments with their bureaucracy make things too expensive to make. Elon Musk's simple but ambitious goal of making cheap reusable rockets. Is the necessary first step to getting "off our rock."

IV. The Characteristics of an effective leader.

A. A leader is simply someone people are willing to follow. When a leader has abused and ruined his power, a new leader must be chosen to replace him, else our nation will be ruined.

B. An effective leader is a person who is bold enough to make the calls that no one else wants to make. President Truman's order to drop the "A" bomb on Hiroshima was by far one of the toughest calls in history. They see into the future not into the past. Politicians like Newt Gingrich give great speeches, but they seldom live up to their words.

V. My Leadership Qualities

A. My Strength as a leader comes from my many experiences.

1. My communication abilities both on and off the field. Help me to be able to give clear and concise orders. That way there is no room for errors. You can't have a mistake on the battlefield.

2. To be truthful I haven't learned all that much. Then again I have had many more experiences in my short life than most men my age. Your
