Seleste was the youngest of three as well as the only daughter of Ivan and Lucia. Joel was the eldest, and Josh was the middle child. Joel was thirty one, and Josh about to turn thirty. Seleste and Joel are fifteen years apart in age, and she is thirteen with Josh. It must have been pretty tough for Seleste to grow up in a family where her mother Lucia would always give her eldest son the most attention, instead of her. As Seleste grew older, Lucia would explain to her why she had acted the way she has with Joel. Joel had grown up with autism and psychosis. Of course it must have been especially hard for Josh, as they are only two years apart. Although the constant problems the family would face, especially the constant parent disputes, Seleste was loved and especially blossomed beautifully with the love that Lucia would express toward her. It was a love that counted as a best friend, mother, and even father all in one.
One year after the famous Latino celebration of the coming of age from a girl to a young woman, the QuinceaƱera, Seleste felt the desire to go out more and finally meet new people. However, before Seleste called her mom, one of her friends told her to trust her and that nothing could possibly go wrong. The plan was to simply go for a while to dance so afterward they could catch a movie. "Alright!" replied Seleste, "I'll ask my mom if she would let me go to the movies with you guys". Finally the day came. Jessica picked up Seleste and her friends, and were on their way to the club to dance. While Seleste and her friends are off having a good time, Lucia and Ivan are worried at home and suspect that something is wrong, "Honey," spoke Ivan, "isn't it too late for the girls to still be out?" Lucia replied, "You're right, let me call her." Back at the party, Selestes' friends were out of control. She noticed that something was wrong with them. She tells Jessica that she would like to be dropped off at her home because it's getting really late. Jessica says yes but doesn't give her any eye contact, her vision is blurred. The other friends seemed to have also had some alcohol. Seleste thought that she didn't have another choice but to get in the car so Jessica could take her home as soon as
