This report was about the structure and culture of two medium/large scale organization, the structure and culture of two organization and comparison and contrasting of their structure and cultures and how the personality and selective perception are influence on an individual work behavior? The Lalanka Water Management (Pvt) Ltd & Odiris Engineering Company (Pvt) Ltd were a medium scale organization that selected. Lalanka Water Management (Pvt) Ltd was incorporated in year 1997 with the prime intention of performing as a specialist and consultant on water treatment activities in Sri Lanka. Odiris Engineering Company is the inventor and leading coconut scraper manufacturer in Sri Lanka since 1952. They are Manufacturers & Exporters of Coconut Graters & Accessories, Gas Cookers, Kerosene Cookers, and Kitchen Equipment. And the industry founded by Mr. Odiris Perera in 1952, had grown in strength that made it necessary in 1987 to convert the business to a Company, with a Directorate of his sons who associated with him in the development activity.

Methods of analysis include the culture and the structure of the Lalanka Water Management (Pvt) Ltd & Odiris Engineering Company (Pvt) Ltd. And the how this structure and were support its culture and how this relationship effect on business performance.

The report finds the structure and the culture of the Lalanka Water Management (Pvt) Ltd & Odiris Engineering Company (Pvt) Ltd. And the personality and selective perception are influence on an individual work behavior in him/her work life.

The report finds the prospects of the company in its current positions are not positive the major areas of weakness and the recommendation for the weaknesses are,

  • The Lalanka Water Management (Pvt) Ltd that they have the wide span of control. So they want more time to make a decisions because of the wide span of control. So recommendation for this it may be useful that they change it to the narrow span of control.
  • The Lalanka Water Management (Pvt) Ltd & Odiris Engineering Company (Pvt) Ltd have high work specialization so the employees can be fed up in their jobs. So recommendation for that they can give them the promotion.
