Kudler Fine Foods Accounting System
Kudler Fine Foods opened the doors of its first store in 1998 and since then have opened two more locations in the San Diego metropolitan area. With multiple locations, the amount of business transactions occurring on a daily basis has the potential to reach several thousand. Kudler's initial business plan included a large allotment of money to hire a consulting firm to assist with the selection and installation of a comprehensive Retail Enterprise Management System. Smith Systems Consulting was selected and performed a thorough analysis and selected a modular and scalable RMS was selected. Smith Systems Consulting is also contracted to maintain Kudler's management systems. A new system with strong support, industry and functional specific add-ons, and ease-of-use applications will help to reduce overhead, streamline business processes and greatly improve our core financial application. Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 would provide Kudler Fine Foods with highly acclaimed ERP software with a motto of think forward, increase productivity, and stay ahead. All three of which mirror the ideals of Kudler Fine Foods.
Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 offers several new features, many of which would be appealing for our company. First, the price for the Starter pack is $5,000 and provides three full user licenses and the Extended Human Resources & Payroll pack for advanced functionality is an additional $7,000. This price seems steep, but is well below the projected $50,000 in our initial business plan. With Microsoft Dynamics GP Kudler would also save money by eliminating our reliability on Smith Systems Consulting for maintenance. The Director of Finance Harvey Stephens, Director of Administration & Human Resources Brenda Wagner, and Director of Store Operations Yvonne Reynolds would each have access to the full licenses received as part of the Starter pack. Our HR personnel, accounting clerks, and inventory manager, and purchasing manager would receive lite versions of the ERP software that are more specific to their needs. Additional full users can be purchased for $3,000 or limited users for $600. The cost of this software is well below the projected budget and will also eliminate our yearly contracts with Smith Consulting.
Each department will discover several useful key features that are designed specifically to improve their common business processes. The accounting department will find the Financial Management portion of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 extremely useful. A key feature is the General Ledger with AFA that provides the ability to manage our accounting data with features that sharply reduce time and effort for key tasks and delivers faster ways to track and analyze financial information. Also, the Analytical Accounting portion classifies, reports, and analyzes financial transactions based on our specific business needs and Payables
