POSITION SUMMARY:
Lead/manage an operations/maintenance team of hourly, nonexempt, and/or exempt salaried employees towards the achievement of shift/team/department objectives.
Scope:
The incumbent typically reports to the Operations Team Manager. The position is typically responsible for the day to day leadership and management of a fairly complex converting/production team handling production, quality, safety, housekeeping, LEAN, and employee relations issues in an expedient manner. Advises manufacturing operations personnel with regards to administrative procedures, technical problems and work priorities. Most time is spent ''on the floor'' with the incumbent in continuous contact with team members regarding production/maintenance issues.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a from an ABET accredited College or University.
Min 6 years experience in a high-speed industrial manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years experience in a high-speed industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
8+ years experience with high speed converting processes and equipment in a plant support role.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Ensure the efficient and safe operations of the FemCare converting machines in order to attain machine safety, cost, housekeeping, production and quality objectives.
2. Become proficient in LEAN principles and lead LEAN training/activities to build skills/talent and improve results within the converting department.
3. Coordinate maintenance work performed, or mechanical process changes made in their area of responsibility to ensure the least possible amount of downtime and ensure efficient operations.
4. Evaluate recommendations from engineering sources for product or process innovations to ensure changes compatible with operating goals.
