JUST HOW DOES THE BIBLE READ ABOUT THE WORD: HOMOSEXUALITY?
Let me talk a few things here. The word "homosexual" does not appear in the Bible anywhere. That word "homosexual" was not invented in any language, until the 1890s.
In the Bible, (any bible) only in seven passages does it remotely talk about so- called homosexual behavior. In the story of Sodom and Gomorra, if you know anything about this story you would know that this has nothing to do with the issue of homosexuality. Why? Well, in the Biblical passage of Sodom and Gomorra, you would know the attempted gang rape in Sodom has nothing to say about whether or not genuine love expressed between consenting adults of the same gender is legitimate. Some would say that the passage of Deuteronomy 23, which refers to Canaanite fertility rites that have overcome in the Jewish worship. Passages in I Corinthians and I Timothy refer to male prostitution. These Two passages have been often quoted prohibiting male homosexual behavior, they can be found in the book of Leviticus. Leviticus also states that any man who even touches a woman during her menstrual period is to be stoned to death, and the men are to be executed, it also states that interracial marriage is as sin, that any two types of cloth are not to be worn together, and foods such as pork must never be eaten. But, which Christian among us follows these rites? I already know you do not.
I do not know of any Christians, no matter how true they say they are, who believe that they are bound to obey all of the Levitical laws. Instead Christians take the scriptures and interpret them as how they see fit, they do not try to see how to separate the Word of God from cultural norms and prejudices, that is, how to separate the Message from the envelope in which it comes. Most people do not even know where and how we've arrived with the 66 books of the Bible were decided. Research this for yourself? No..., of course not, this along with your salvation you can ask your pastor or some respected member of your family, right? Pitiful!
The last Biblical text that Christians use to deal with homosexual behavior is found in Paul's letter to the Romans, in which he condemns so-called homosexual behavior. The background for this behavior comes from the common Roman practice of older males having younger males for sexual exploitation, which he was right to condemn. WOW! What a concept but like so many naive Christians. let's take what we want out of context,
But even if this were not the case, even if Paul knew about and condemned all forms of homosexual behavior, even the most loving, what then? Paul also stated in this letter that women will not teach, woman will not cut their hair, woman will not speak in church. Do we follow his teaching, here? Oh no, of course not. He told slaves to obey their masters not once, but
