Perhaps , of all the memories in a person's life , happy memories would hold a special place.I didn't know what happiness was until those special and adventurous days.I was hardly able to believe the reality of my adventures. They were truly so wonderful and fantastic, and the memories would remain forever in my mind. The memories was full of joie de vivre.During those times, I had learned to believe in God.
It was a beautiful mmorning. The sun rose majestically in the sky heralding the dawn of a glorious new day.Everything looked radiant in the early morning sun.The radiant rays of the sun brought hope and vigour.
I woke up early as usual.I never thought that the beginning of the day was the beginning of my journey to the centre of the earth.Today, I would have to visit my uncle,Trevor prescott in California.I was a Malaysian but my uncle was an American.
Was it strange??
No, it wasn't strange.I was a half-breed of American and Malaysian. My mother was a Malaysian and my father was an American. After my father's funeral ten years ago,my mother and I had move from America to Malaysia.
Soon,I was on the flight to California. My mom was too busy and didn't have time for me,so I had to spend 10 days of short term holiday with my uncle. My uncle was a prodigious professor of Philosophy,Chemistry,Geology,Mineralogy and many other ologies in University of California It had been a long time since I saw him.I last met him during my father's funeral. At that time,I was only seven years old. After the long distance flight,my mom and I took a cab to get to my uncle's house from the airport.Soon,we reached my uncle's front door.He was standing there to welcome us,
The place was more beautiful than I had thought.Colourful flowers and trees surrounded the house. The fragrance of wild flowers and trees filled the air.The bushes are full of the sound of bees and the scent of honey. It was like a breathtaking scenery on television.A small wooden house, surrounded by different species of flowers and huge trees.
Besides, the master of the house ws dressed smartly. He was about 185cm in height with a pair of piercing blue eyes and had a gorgeous body with a six-pack abdominal muscles. When he saw me,his face lit up with a smile immediately and hugged me,"You've grown up so...You look exactly like your father."I was thinking,"Should I feel happy?Do I look like a boy?"
After my mother dropped me off at my uncle's house, she left for work in Florida. My uncle told me about my father. He said my father was a scientist and showed me a photo of my father. The photograph awakens the poignant memory of him. After my father passed away,my mom was the only one that I can rely on.
Ten years ago.
My father went for an expedition and never came back again. When the first time I heard of it,something popped out in my head,"What?I lost my father just because of a stupid, boring expedition?"He had left behind a book before he went for the trip. When we opened it,we found many notes written by my father in the book by my father. So we decided to follow suit.
Uncle Trevor booked a flight to Iceland with his 5 containers of coin savings. When we reach Iceland's airport,it was already afternoon. We had to travel on our own.Uncle Trevor rented a car for our journey .We wanted to find the house of the author who had written the book "Journey to the centre of the earth",so I had to navigate while Uncle Trevor was driving. The author's house was at Reykjavik, one of the places in Iceland. For us,it was difficult to find a place in Iceland, because we didn't know Icelandic.
In addition, the weather was unpredictable. The sun first appeared as a huge ball of fire and shone merciless from a cloudless sky. Then all of a sudden.there were alternate bands of grey, black and white in
