1. Give examples of needs, wants and demands that Jet blues customers demonstrate, differentiating these three concepts. What are the implications for each on jet blue’s practices?
Needs is the state of felt deprivation. In this case the customers of jet blue needed to travel from one place to another by air.
Wants are a form of human needs shaped by the culture of the person. Jet blues customers wanted to be able to fly from one place to another in a comfortable airline that provided security and safety but at the same time affordable. In this case Jet blue provided comfort on the aircraft by increasing the length of foot movements and the provision of snacks and drinks on the air. Also provided free Wi-Fi and the availability of radio stations and TV channels.
Demands are human wants that are backed by buying power. The customers demanded efficiency and effectiveness from the company and the ability to ensure protection and safety measures during rough situations. After the big Valentine’s melt down the jet blue company managed to come out with a big plus on all situations, protective measures were taken and the company has managed to increase the safety measures and other occurrence of such situations are at minimal.
2. Describe in detail all the facets of jet blue’s product. What is being exchanged in a jet blue transaction?
Jet blue is an airline service that provides travel facilities. It provides air services all over America for a cheap affordable price. Jet blue services include a wide variety of snacks and beverages on the plane, they provide wireless internet for the customers on air and at the stations in the airport. Jet blue also has a wide LCD TV series with various channels and radio stations to sit through long delays at big airports such as JFK.
They provide the best customer services not only on air flights but also on the calls to the air facilities. The employees are also well educated with the best customer care all round. In exchange for the travel you are treated like a well-earned customer. It is worth the pay.
3. Which of the five management marketing concepts best applies to jet blue?
I feel that the jet blue company used both the marketing concept approach and the societal marketing approach. Jet blue has managed to achieve there organizational goals depending on knowing the needs and wants of target markets and delivering the desired satisfactions better than the competitors do. Also Jet blue has considered marketing ideas that consider consumers wants and the company’s requirements, consumer’s long run interest and society’s long run interests.
