There has been an ongoing controversy about whether or not America is safe after the tragic incident that happened on September 9th, 2001. Some claim that the homeland security is taking all the necessary precautions in order to prevent any terrorist attack that arises. While others believe that the homeland security is not doing a well enough job of protecting the nation, and must improve their methods in order to ensure the safeness of our country. But when it comes down to the real question whether or not America is safe from threats? The answer is no. As we begin to examine my 2 points of analysis, we will begin to see that the homeland security is not taking the necessary precautions to keep our nation safe.
Let us examine my first point of analysis, that over the course of ten years, there have been numerous terrorist attacks on U.S. soil that killed American civilians. It is estimated that there has been nearly 8 attacks since 9-11, that killed nearly 95 American civilians. Had the Department of Homeland security been on top of the situation, this would never have happened, and would have easily been preventable or at least, try to keep casualties at a minimum. As we can see, it is evident that the homeland security is not doing a well enough job of trying to prevent these occurrences from happening.
To my second point of analysis, that the united States are currently undergoing foreign tensions with countries such as the Middle East. Unless these conflicts are resolved, our nation will always be in danger of imminent threats.
Once again, when being the asked the question whether America is safe after the 9-11 incident, it is evident that our nation is obviously in danger of impending threats, and not safe. Because the department of homeland security is not doing a well enough job of preventing these threats from happening, and also because of the tensions we have with other countries such as the Middle East. It is understandable that homeland security is trying their best to keep our nation safe; however we must also realize that our nation is not prone, to threats and attacks. So what can we do to keep America safer? Well, to start, we could try to loosen tensions with other countries.
